Full renovation with the addition of a side extension

This once dark and cramped lower-ground-floor flat has been completely transformed through a full refurbishment and the addition of a glazed side extension, where the new kitchen has been thoughtfully positioned. Originally a one-bedroom flat, it now boasts two spacious double bedrooms, ample storage, and a light-filled, open-plan living area.

A glazed roof and sliding doors overlooking the patio brought in much-needed natural light, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. Relocating the bathroom—which had previously blocked the patio view, sitting between the kitchen and patio—enabled a clever reconfiguration of the layout. Merging the sitting room and kitchen freed up space for a second double bedroom, making the most of the flat’s potential.

The space embodies the joy of cooking together and enhances contemporary living. It features a spacious central island, perfect for prep, seating, and storage. The light grey stone worktop elegantly folds down to form the shorter sides of the island, resulting in a striking sculptural volume that stands out against the dark, textured wood grain doors.

From the central island, you can enjoy views of the garden, as well as the hallway and sitting room, which are situated on a higher level at the front of the house. The glass partition provides acoustic separation while visually connecting the rooms and allowing natural light to flood in during the evenings.
